HI-Tier

HI-Tier reports, straight from your live herd

What you record on the animal becomes the report — and what is stored in HI-Tier, Germany's national livestock database, comes back into your farm. No second list, no retyping, using your farm's own HI-Tier access.

What FarmManager reports to HI-Tier

The report is generated from the events you record on the animal anyway, not from a second table. Selling an animal immediately creates the departure as a prepared report, instead of making you enter it a second time.

What comes back from HI-Tier

The sync pulls what the database holds on your farm and compares it with what's recorded in your farm records.

Import your animal stock

The stock held in HI-Tier is imported into FarmManager. You don't start from zero, and you don't retype a single ear-tag number.

Pig movements and census report

Pig movements and census reports are read in from HI-Tier and compared against your stock.

Sheep and goat movements and census report

The same retrieval runs for sheep and goats — movements and the census report come from the database into your farm.

Manual or automatic sync

You decide per farm whether the sync runs at the push of a button or automatically whenever something changes.

Discrepancies with severity level

If something doesn't match, a visible entry is created with a severity level — notice, warning or error — instead of a silent discrepancy.

Holding numbers from the directory

Holding numbers are looked up in the HI-Tier directory and shown together with the farm name, instead of being typed in blind.

Reporting deadlines in view

FarmManager knows which events must be reported and can see which of them haven't reached HI-Tier yet. Which deadline applies is set out in the German regulation — what happens here is that it doesn't pass unnoticed.

  • Reportable events that haven't been sent yet stay visible, instead of getting lost in the animal's history.
  • Every event carries its own status — reported, pending, due soon or overdue — and is sorted by urgency.
  • If it becomes urgent, FarmManager reminds the roles responsible for it on the farm, by email and inside the system.
  • The reminder names the animals involved, so nobody has to go searching for what it's about.
  • The census report is monitored and reminded about too.

How the connection is set up

  1. 1

Turn on HI-Tier for the farm

The connection is set up per farm. If you run several farms, you set up each one individually — separate access, separate reports.

  2. 2

Enter your holding number and login details

Your HI-Tier holding number and PIN are stored on the farm profile, along with your co-user ID if you work with one.

  3. 3

    Choose the sync mode

Manual means you trigger the sync yourself. Automatic means it runs on its own whenever something changes.

  4. 4

    First sync

After you save, the first sync starts and imports the stock held in HI-Tier. From then on it runs in the mode you chose.

What your farm needs to bring

  • A holding number under which your farm is registered in HI-Tier.
  • Your own HI-Tier access with a PIN. FarmManager does not create an account for you and does not replace logging in to HI-Tier.
  • A willingness to check the reports. FarmManager reports on your behalf using your login details — responsibility for the content and timeliness of the report stays with your farm.
